The bulbous green growths are abnormal, but the tiny lighter colored dots are sori. They produce spores which turn brown as they mature. This is how ferns reproduce and it's completely normal. It sounds like this is what you're referring to.

Thank you Chris. I am afraid that I was indeed refering to what I am glad to hear is normal. One less problem to worry about. And yes, I couldn't even figgure what else might be wrong with that picture. Nice to know about that in the future.

Don't scrape them off in the future. You can damage the fronds by doing so.

Thanks again folks. Yes, I had already assumed that scraping them off was a bad idea if they were normal structure. Fortunately I only removed a few on one leaflet (or whatever) so only one onethousandth or less damage.
