Irish moss in pavement cracks?

16 years ago

I have an old, unused blacktop driveway on my property. It is in bad shape with lots of cracks. I don't want to invest in repairing or removing it right now. It would look great if I could get some sort of ground cover to grow in all of the cracks (instead of big weeds). It gets morning - mid day sun then is in shade in the mid-to-late afternoon.

Would irish moss do the trick? Any other ideas?
