Ingrid you are in CA....I would have left them. Your growing season is not over yet and so they probably just did the right thing by wanting to bloom.

Just let them grow, I would say!

Many of the plants I get from Kartuz are in bud even though they are small. All the iochromas I got last summer were in bloom and all are doing fine. Just enjoy your flowers.

I agree with everybody. Let it flower and enjoy it. I have a small double white about 18" tall and is blooming like crazy. The flowers are as big as the plant. I had to put it on a table so the flower do not touch the ground. Flowering did not affect the growth of my brug.

I understand all that, but like I said, those plants are barely 5 (five) inches tall, that's all!!! To me this is like asking a 12 year old girl to give birth!!!

They really are fine. Both my I. australe and Alba were about that size and covered in buds. They propagate from cuttings and it's kind of like taking a cutting above the Y on a brug. You'll get earlier blooms. As long as the plants are well rooted, which I'm sure they are, just enjoy. It's unrooted and newly rooted plants that you don't want to stress by flowering.

Ingrid ha ha ha ha that is so funny you would mention that. This morning Maddy ask me why Precious is making this crazy noise. She is in heat again and I did not make it to the vet yet. Maddy had to come first.

But she said : you mean she is a baby and can have babies? Luckily she threw in that *we* have to be grown ups before WE can have babies...uff that was not easy lol
