I have owned a little turkey-tail fern for 2-3 weeks. It seemed to be doing okay when I watered it less than a week ago. Today, it's almost all dead. What in the world have I done to my poor little fern?

1) It's an indoor plant in a plastic container that has a water tray with a spout.

2) I planted the fern in Miracle Grow's Moisture Control potting mix.

3) Initially, I watered it with Miracle Grow all-purpose plant food. Its next watering was with plain water from the tap. It's last watering was with the all-purpose plant food. I've watered it once a week. The planter was empty when I watered the fern.

4) My "baby" has an eastern exposure in a 72-degree house. The fern is located on top of a book case, so the temperature may be somewhat higher where the fern is living/dying.

5) There still seems to be some healthy growth at the base of the plant.
