I have lots of lovely moss growing in my lawn area and want to get rid of the grass and let the moss thrive. How to do this?

Also, my mossy areas are under huge maple trees. What should I do during the autumn (when I am not there) or spring about fallen leaves?

And, can I plant moss on a stony surface with thin soil (former parking area)?
