The first one looks similar to New York fern (because the frond tapers towards the bottom). The second one is Christmas Fern.

What are the scientific names please? Common names mean nothing to me.

If you google those common names, you'll find them (on the very first link):

New York Fern: Thelypteris noveboracensis
Christmas Fern: Polystichum acrostichoides

Thank you. I know where I am with scientific names,they're global. I'm familiar with Thelypteris but I've not heard of New York Fern

I will try to do better and include them in the future, greenlarry.

Around here, New York Fern can be quite a spreader, especially in moist areas.

They look different than mine,most of mine grow straight up along side one another,but again I am no expert.just something a little different looking than what i am used to looking at. Tom in Pa.

It is hard to see the end of the fern in the original picture. Here is a picture of New York fern's distinctive "tapering" shape. Yours may not look exactly like this (mine taper a bit more gradually than this picture), but if they are New York, they should at some point taper towards the ground.
