Thought I'd share these photos. I'm holidaying at the moment and yesterday I took a walk to some friends place who live here. A nice sunny day but cool breeze made it a good day for walking. Although through the "suburbs", the gardens and scenery were quite nice. I took photos along the way and these are some of the Platyceriums I saw. Although they're native to the area, most of these would have spread from gardens into the streetside trees and other garden trees. Not that anyone would mind. The suburban sprawl most probably cleaned out the original ones in the forests.

This is the Elkhorn, Platycerium bifurcatum. It's actually a 'colony' of many plants. The rhizomes branch out within the cluster and produce more plants.
