I just got a fern from a friend of mine. Its in a pot but it looks like it might have been outside for awhile in the cold. If I cut it back will it come back? It has a few nice green leaves but it also has alot of dead ones. Making a huge mess. It gets plenty of humidity, its in the bathroom, and it is a really big plant.

Yes, you can cut the dead fronds back and it will regrow fresh new ones. Is it a Boston fern? Sometimes these ferns dont like to be moved from one spot to another and will react this way. With all the humidity it will be fine. I'm hoping it gets a little sunlight in the bathroom. Good luck!
