I recently got 10 staghorn fern plugs. All of them look to be in good condition except for the lower prons or sterile leaves. All of those are brown, broken and look dead. I'm still working on getting things to mount these ferns but for now I put them in 2in pots with peat moss coarse potting mix. It's been about two weeks and they seem to be doing fine but I wasn't sure if I need to cut off those brown leaves. I have read that most of the time you just let them fall off but i'm guessing that's only if they are mounted. Also I have a ton of that MG Orchid Fertilizer, I heard that I can use that on these little dudes.
