I have a Eureka lemon and I live in zone 7 (NJ). I think they are relatively easly to grow as far as citrus go. Mine is outside from April through November then comes inside to an unheated (but frostfree) garage for the winter. Don't know why you are reading negative things about them as they are one of the most popular varieties grown. They will do better if you keep them on the cool side if you bring them inside for the winter.

What makes you believe it is a dwarf Eureka lemon? What does the label say? Do you know what nursery produced the tree? Eureka Lemons usually have an incompatabilty with dwarfing rootstocks. Here in the central valley of California citrus ranchers usually plant lisbon lemons rather than eureka. They seem to be better producers. Lisbon's also are more adaptable to other than lemon rootstocks.The fruit of both are fairly similar.

I have been researching this very same tree. I also bought at Homedepot. I called homedepot and questioned wether it truly is avdwarf and the lady said no. She said its a true dwarf if the tag says Ultra dwarf. I'm baffled now. I planted this tree where its sunny on the ground. Nany say it should go in a pot.
