New Fruit area

Hi

Have been thinking of replacing my citrus trees that were removed by the state due to citrus canker and since a hurricane removed my small shadehouse now have an open area about 30x50 feet . Put in a limekwat last year and noticed it was immediately attacked by something.lol Neighbors put in 15 new trees and are already very sad looking. I grew citrus for years with no problems at all but apparently that's not true anymore. I do not want to get into regular spraying or problems so maybe citrus is NOT the best choice.??

I'm in 10 florida so there are many other choices of fruit trees that I could grow. Citrus would certainly be the most useful but don't want the headaches lol.

Going to have to invest a bit of money for transplants but want the best chance of success? Any thoughts??

Thanks gary
