Collar Rot???

Hello Everyone! :)

yesterday upon doing my evening stroll around the yard after work I noticed something odd about one of my lemon trees. It had sap oozing from the lower portion of its trunk. This tree was planted almost two years ago transferred from a pot. The trees were a gift from a friend which had grown them from seed, so I think they are almost/about four years old. They haven't bloomed yet which I understand this could/will take longer beings they where started this way, but they "well the one in question anyway" look very healthy and have grown to about seven feet high. The trees have shown no signs of stress and we haven't watered them too much and also have mulch around them but it isn't choking the trunk any...

Could this be early signs of Collar Rot? It hasn't been doing this long or I would have noticed and there isn't any rotted would that can be noticed.

I plan this evening to try and take some pictures if time is allowed after soccer practice and cheering practice for my kids and will post them then.

O'yeah, the tress are in the ground

Thanks for your attendence and offerings in advance

fishaddict ;-)
