Copyrights

I know I've asked this before, but I neglected to save the answer to My Clippings or elsewhere, so I need to ask again.

What programs do some of you use to add those nice "opaque" looking watermark copyrights to your photos.

A few I can mention off hand are Jan's, Michelle's, and Kathy's photos. They are really impressive!

I see many of you also use other types of copyrights, using different style text, but I'm really interested in the "see through" texts and logos.

Julie, I use Paint Shop Pro to watermark all my photos. I'm not sure what the others are using.
If you have PSP, I can give you a link to a tutorial on how to make the watermarks.

Decided to put the watermark tutorial link here since others may like to see how it's done also. :)
There are lots of them out there, but this one is simple and is the one I use. :)

I use PSP, too. It's not difficult, if you have the right program. Good luck!

    Thanks, Jan.

I don't have PSP, but I will surely look into it!

Not sure if you found what your looking for yet but if you have a PC versus a MAC then you might want to try out FastStone Image Viewer. Free software. Someone on the Irfan View message board recommended it when I was looking for a tool to watermark/copyright photos but not have the imprint be very noticeable in the pic. Much like PSP will do but not at the cost of buying more software.

I did find that when downloaded from the first exe link the software had an error. Went back and downloaded from the exe2 site and it worked fine. Not sure if my connections were having issues on the first download.
There is alot of tools in this software and just getting use to the different things it can do is a challenge but alot of fun. I have just been practicing typing in the text on photos to see just how light I can make the imprint. Here is a sample:
    {{gwi:656977}}

I'm now working on how to create a template logo so all I have to do is click on the watermark button and it will imprint automatically.

    Julie,
I also use Photo Shop Pro... took a while to figure it out with my version, but Jan's link to the tutorial will steer you right. (I'm not sure if I was the Michelle you were speaking of, but I thought I'd chime in too!) :o)

Jan, I didn't know how to upload it to make a picute tube, but now I do!! Thanks, I think it will be a billion times easier than cut and paste everytime!!

Glad to have helped Julie. It's so easy to just click on the picture tube tool and add your watermark, isn't it? And the fact that you can size it easily for your photo is great too. I usually make several using different fonts, styles, etc. and I also like putting the year on them, that way, I always know what season the photo was taken.
There are lots of tutorials offered on the web for PSP that will help you learn how to use lots of the tools.

    Michelle,
Yes, you are the one I mentioned above.
    Your logo is very impressive!

    Jan,
PSP seems a bit expensive right now, but I may see if they have it cheaper at Sam's Club, rather than purchase it on-line.

Julie, I've had mine for a while, it's PSP7 which I know is an older version, but it still does all that I need it to do and more. You might check Amazon to see if you could find it cheaper there, just a suggestion. But then, Julia's free program may be just as good for marking photos.
    Good luck,

    Thanks, Jan.

I checked Amazon.com, and they are presently out of that version, and not sure when it may be offered again, but I'll keep watching.
