Dry Shade, zone 4

20 years ago

I'm planning a new garden bed, and have one of the most challenging places to plant....full shade, clay soil, under maples. The area is about 10'x 20' and is between a row of white pines and 3 mature maples (limbed up last year).

I'm looking for shrubs (red elderberries?), tall perennials, and ground covers. Any ideas?
