Plants for Difficult Places

Concrete patio privacy

Hello. I have a patio that shares a chain link fence with my neighbor. I'd put vines on it except it's only 3 feet tall so that won't give much privacy. I need something tall and narrow (it's a small patio and I don't want a bushy plant to take up all the space) but here's the rub...the patio is concrete so i can't plant something in the ground and need a container plant. Any ideas for this Los Angeles homeowner? Thanks,

Are you looking for something inexpensive? A couple of posts, one attached to the house, one in the ground at the end of the patio with a couple beams across for bracing...then hang a roll up screen would not cost a bundle.

There are also natural fencing available which easily attaches to chain link. The offerings are wide ranged for types of wood. URL below of one company.

You could try some short tropical clumping bamboo, check out the bamboo forum.
