We removed bunch of really tall and spindly pine that were prone to falling over. What can I grow in their place? There are many stumps and shallow roots, plus a few small hardwood trees, so the area is slightly shaded. I thought about starting a berry patch, but then I realized not everything will enjoy that acidic soil. I would like to grow something edible, but will settle for something pretty. Low maintenance would also be great. Thanks!
