It would be great if you could dry the open, blue flowers of catanache, but they just don't dry well -- or at least, I haven't found any way to do it. What does work is to dry the silvery seed heads that follow (which look very much like the silvery buds that precede the blooms). That's why catanache makes it onto lists of "flowers that dry well," even though it isn't the flowers that you end up using.

Yes, we do. We hang them upside down for the stem to dry.
