Here in Dallas we have only had 19" total for 2005. We need it badly.

Sorry to hear that. What is normal for you there? I had a total of 69.77" for the year here, so my complaining seems ridiculous now, hearing how little you had!

We normally have around 36". Right now we have D4 for our intensity level of the drought. We are at Exceptional. We are also not expected to get any rain for the next several months.

San Antonio had under 17 inches in 2005 and is considered now to be in severe drought. I think the normal rainfall is similar to the Dallas area. The fires have started now. One major one north of S.A. One also in the southern county and a couple farther south. Luckily, no injuries I've heard of and no homes lost so far. We're to the west of the San Antonio area and it's so dry here, it's quite scary. So we have an opening here for any rainfall, anytime, we'd pay very well and run outside to celebrate; prayers and rain dancers are also very welcome. Wishing for a better forecast for 2006.

Ive hiked in Friedrich Park a couple of times and there is gobs of dry leaves around the crown of all the mature trees..not to mention theres a spot called the "Juniper Barrens" Couple that with these dry northerns blowing thru the balcones escarpment and a rogue fire...bye bye Fair Oaks and the Dominion
