In winter real gardeners...are twice as busy with cataloguing seeds, drying tubers, starting cuttings,looking after 200 orchids in the greenhouse, preparing potting materials for the winter sowing of new seeds, raising new seedlings, and good grief! It's Spring!

In winter real gardeners will go ga ga over their seedlings & discreetly sniff their private in house stash of well aged compost(or manure).

Dream they will be closer to having their gardens the way they dreamt they would be.

FINALLY CLEAN THEIR HOUSE. NO TIME IN THE SUMMER.

...on coastal Vancouver Island, enjoy the hardy palms & sub-tropicals in the garden.

....finally pay attention to their houseplants (the ones that are not dead that is)

stalk the neighbourhood on recycle day to scarf some containers for winter sowing ........

Clean the gourds from the previous growing season. Seed trade for the next season and plan (on paper) the 2 acres of property for the rest of her life! :0)

write to their Gardenweb buddies, share their plans for the next season, trade seeds.....and count the days to the first day after the last frost!!!

spend endless hours staring out the window and imagining their upcoming spring garden

...plan and start a new garden club in their city.

This "finish the sentence..." will be the opening activity at our new garden club first meeting tomorrow night. Love the responses that have been sent in!
