It went up Jan 15 when domestic went from 51 cents to 52 cents, mailing to Us is 93 instead of 89 cents

I know you are talking about non-standard/oversize envelopes, but I sent out a bunch of stuff late last week in padded envelopes and the postal station folks only charge me the two .52 cents on envelopes which I didn't have the .51 cent stamps already. On those they said they would be honoured.

I know..it was soooo much easier when you could just double up for the bubble. Now you have to buy special stamps...grrrrr.

Nicole, apparently your PO gals are gracious, the ones here get their measuring tapes out if need be!

I noticed too that they have PERMANENT(TM) Stamps, which retain their value forever and eliminate the need to purchase 1¢ stamps after a rate increase.

I used your link to go to the website and I thought just for something to do I would see what it would cost to mail a package I have to send to my aunt in Pennsylvania .

What a joke Canada post is .....oh my gosh! I entered that I wanted to send a package 8 inches by 8 inches x 5 inches tall ....weight 2kg .....here is what came up on the website.

Purolator International: Item Length does not meet the minimum required value. 9.49inch
Expedited Parcel USA: Item Length does not meet the minimum required value. 8.27inch
Small Packet USA Air: Item Weight exceeds the maximum allowed value. 1kg
Small Packet USA - Light Packet: Item Weight exceeds the maximum allowed value. 0.5kg
Small Packet USA Surface: Item Weight exceeds the maximum allowed value. 1kg
Xpresspost USA: Item Length does not meet the minimum required value. 8.27inch

Guess I wont be sending this package by Canada Post LOL ......it either is too big , too small , weighs too much , or not enough .This is laughable .....oh my goodness .....now they are telling us what size packages we can send ....thought this was a service industry .....the more they charge the less service we get !

Actually Canada Post will still send it, no matter the size. Their Online tool is also not the best. Just increase everything to "their specified" dimensions and you will see the true cost. Another thing it is also cheaper to send to the states than across Canada. I sell on e-bay and always have to include in my responses that if there is something more they would like to wait before paying as it is cheaper for them to have 2 or 3 things sent for the same price than for just one product.

Hmmm...I have been paying the 1.10 cost on SASBE for a year now. I don't think it's something new from January. Our postal girl takes out this measuring thing (cutout the size of proper envelopes) and tells 1.10 plus tax please.

But one day at a dollar store called "Dollar Giant" they had smaller size than normal bubble packets and for these I only put 2 regular stamps. Sadly when I went back to buy all of them, they were all gone. someone got to them before me :o/

I've been burned by the dollar store bubbles. Even though they pass through the "template" at the counter, the posties reject them anyways because they're bubble. Not worth having them returned "Insufficient Postage". They've done that to me even though the P.O. clerk cancelled the stamp!
