Dont know if you are aware that Vesey's has "The Mouse Plant" ( arisarium proboscideum) for sale. Cute plant and only 5.95 for one or 14.95 for 3 So if you dont find in on GW that is a source if you absolutely have to have it.

I did notice that they have had that plant for that last few years. I may order it come spring but there is little else in their catalog that interests me and I hate spending more on plants than shipping. Arisarium proboscideum is a very cute little plant so I may just have to order a few tubers anyways.

Are you excited for spring yet? I have lots of new seeds to start and can't wait to put in a few plant orders when the weather warms up. If I have any extra interesting seedlings in the spring I will let you know.

You bet I am anxious for spring LOL ! I was ready for it to arrive in early December! I too am deliberating on plants to order ....I have more plants I want to order than money of course ...story of my life! LOL

My main issue is space but I am planning on moving to a more garden friendly house before spring. The orchids still get the most attention but I am in the mood to do some serious dirt gardening this season.

I think I will just bite the bullet and order the plants regardless of the shipping, thanks for the offer though. I am sure I can find something else to add because I want to introduce my nephew to gardening this year as well. I was thinking something huge like a giant sunflower would impress him and help to feed the chipmunks that are in yard.

Me again , I think I have some Kong Sunflower seeds if they interest you I could check and see what I have . These are supposed to be huge. I am not sure exactly how big as I got them in a trade .....but this is what they say about them

"King size sunflowers that can reach up to 3.5m (14 feet) tall! Great for backgrounds or temporary hedges. "

If you want a really big sunflower, Kong is the one to raise. Reaching 12 feet tall, Kong is even more impressive because it's multi-branched and covered with 4-6 inch yellow blooms offset by large, dark green leaves. Heavy stalked and very sturdy. Grow a forest of these giants and you'll have to keep an eye out for big monkeys!

I'll start looking for you....no sense in spending money if you dont have to .

That sounds great my nephew should be quite impressed by a huge 14-foot tall plant. I may order some of the smaller fancy varieties to fill in the gaps though. I did take a look through the catalog this morning and found a few things I could add.

I took a look through my seed collection and found a few extras I can share. One that I will be starting this spring for the first time is Cortaderia selloana the pink pampas grass. I also added several new climbing vines from the morning glory family. Let me know if any of those interests you and I will be sure to start extras.

Thanks for the link Signet they have some nice seeds. I know of a few nurseries on the west coast that have a nice selection of Arisaema but I wish I could find more Amorphophallus in Canada.

Just in case you're still interested, I have quite a few species of Amorphophallus.... konjac of course, kiusianus, bulbifer, paeoniifolius, scaber, hewetii, haematospadix, and a bunch of others. If you're interested, you can let me know.

If you are still looking for Arisaema and Arisarum proboscideum, go to gardensnorth.com. They have a good selection of different arisaema and they sell the arisarum proboscideum in both seeds and bulbils. They are located in North Gower just south west of Ottawa. Wendy
