WANTED: A small Annual only Round Robin

I don't know about the rest of you, but I have a few annual commercial seedpacks that I'm waiting to sow when it gets warmer. I'd like to suggest a small..10 participants only round robin for annuals.

Rules:

1. Commercial pack annuals only..no homegrown.

  1. You can split into your own pkg, but please label with name, colour, approximate number of seeds, and BRAND. (That way we can evaluate companies, say McKenzie vs Thompson Morgan)

3. Trades can be tiny i.e. 4-5 seeds if your bought pack is chintzy on the seeds..just trade for the same amount, give or take a few.

4. Turnaround within 2 days only.

5. Try your best not to get the envelope over "bubble" rate, as opposed to parcel post rate.

6. Veggies welcome, but the larger the seed, the fewer in pack. (Who needs more than one pumpkin vine!) Three seeds should do to insure germination.

So..what do you think? I'm willing to do the set up and start it going. Please e-mail me if you are interested. I think we may end up with a little more variety in our gardens, without having to buy a whole seed pack.

Wendy, I am interested - do you need 10 packets in total? Please advise. This is a great idea to share the leftovers (I have lots from my indoor seed starting from the last month or so!)
The only thing is, could you start this not on a Friday - Monday period so folk don't miss their emails if away from home?
    Many thanks,
    McPeg

I would think that whatever you take, you replace with the same amount. Extras are ok, but in my experience the robin will get rather large. I'd like to think we could keep the packs small, but the varieties numerous. I'll start the robin off with at least 20 packs, so veggie and flower lovers both can take and exchange. I'll give this idea a chance to "percolate". If anyone has any ideas on it, let me know.

Great idea Wendy. I am always left with toooo many seeds. I am a plant nut, like to see how the plant grows, what it looks like when mature, ect...... my garden is a mess, because I like to grow every plant on this earth.
    I am all for it.
