HAVE: Passiflora ligularis seeds

20 years ago

{{gwi:680430}}

Knowed as Sweet Grenadilla. Zones 9-10, (-5C, 25C). Vining to 14 feet tall. It climbs by means of clinging tendrils and can be kept as an container plant. The long tendrils need lots of support for climbing. It may be grown as a houseplant in a sunny South facing window. The vine is intolerant of heat. High temperatures and dry conditions should be avoided. Provide ideally a temperature of 10C (night) and 25C (day).

These seeds should be subjected to a 24 hours hot temperature water soak, before sowing, in a good seed compost at 1/4" deep. Keep damp soil, not soaking wet. Keep pot in warm situation 20C-24C. Cover the top of the pot with clear plastic so the humidity will remain high.

When you see some tiny plants starting to sprout, slowly open the top of the pot, a little each day, so that the new seedlings don't go into shock from the humidity being lowered too quickly. Germination of this passiflora can occur in 4 weeks, usually 6, or take up to 3 months.

Would like to trade for any other Passiflora seeds.
