I am also in London Ontario and have a new love of hosta over the past few years although I don't exactly have a collection yet. What I do have is listed below and most are the more common ones and are not very large yet. I started out with a few no names given by friends etc. from their garden when they were dividing. My backyard is mostly shaded, and I have grown to love how they look out there and have picked up more here and there. Then I found the Hosta Forum here on gardenweb a couple of years ago. I mostly lurk since I have little to offer by way of pictures or advice but I have learned so much ... and have a long list of wishes now. (They are such enablers!!!! but I love them all and feel like I know them from reading all of their entries--like characters in a novel.)

a cupped blue which could be Love Pat or Albiqua Drinking Gourd (any identifying differences??)

a large patch of a lighter green one with fragrant purplish flowers that could be Honeybells

another NOID lighter green which is showing signs of puckering now, but grows very sloooooowww

a few more noid white and greens but very common everywhere

Anyway, I realize that I do not have much to offer for sharing especially anything rare but I thought I'd just introduce myself anyway. I'm taking some pictures today after the rain so I'll post some anyway.

I'm in Chatham, but that is no proof of immunity from the ailment- "Gotta have more!!" I have or am in the process of acquiring throught trades, 35 different named varieties with another 15 or so NOIDs. I guess I am hooked on hostas too. We don't get to London too often but if I have a trip booked, I'll let you know.
BTW there is a plant swap on Sunday June 10th in the Appin area, and I will be getting 7 different ones there!!

If life slows down a bit, I might be able to participate.

Digs, you should come out for a tour. The hostas are amazing this year. My garden is on tour (for irises) every Thursday until end of June, but lots of people are spending time checking out the hostas.

I divided many last year, so I'm not sure how many I will do this year. There are over 100 hostas on my standard city lot. Deb, I may even have a few that you'd be interested in. I haven't kept a list for years though, so I'll just have to check and list the ones that I'll be dividing this year.

You're on, Maureen - I'll be over this Thursday! I'd love to come out for a look, no dividing necessary. Mine are still unfurling & colouring up....

Deb, some of us won't be able to get to London for the trade - so may I suggest that I could send all of my "trades", each pre-agreed & labeled with attending recipient, and the "attendees" can put together a return package for me. Some sort of logistical solution like that should be workable - for example between us in the Ottawa area and the group of you that's between To and London.
