Aquatic Plant Exchange

I have a pot of green/black elephant ears. I've seen pics of them growing in backyard ponds. I don't know anything about the care of them. Can they winter outside? Should I transplant them into a bigger pot? I do keep them well watered, but how much sun do they need?

What you most likely have is imperilla taro . Im in zove 7 and I know they will freeze outside but you might be safe in your zone . If you want , you might want to split the pot in 1/2 , leave one outside and the other inside to see if it makes it . I have over 100 different taro plants inside . Just treat them like a house plant . Without a lot of sun they loose their color and dont get as big inside . rick
