I had a great day! My SIL took me out for lunch while DH watched Brayden (and cleaned my kitchen and mopped the floors!!) and then DH took me out for supper (YEAH!! A day off cooking duty!) I got spoiled rotten with a new heavy duty stainless steel spade, a workbench/potting table for the greenhouse, and my very own neoprene chest waders (it's going to be nice to have ones that fit instead of kidnapping DH's ones that are 4 sizes too big)!! Oh and mom and dad gave me some $$ to buy a fruit tree or two with!

All in all quite an eventful day!

Happy birthday, Verena, belatedly. Seems the norm for me these days to be late with birthday wishes. What awesome gifts! The spade and potting bench sound wonderful but the neoprene waders will have to keep for another year, won't they? ; )

Sounds like you had a very nice birthday Verena. What type of chest waders did you get? Personally I like Sea Tux and Bear. Do you need to buy boots now for them, and are you going to go with the felt boots or spikes? Enjoy your new 'toys'. :)

I think it's neat that gardening is one of the few hobbies that has so much diversity in the people it brings together.

DH has been trying to tease me about how old I'm getting but then I remind him that it's been over a decade since he saw 25...LOL! (Cradle robber ;o>

Syreeta...the waders are Northern Escape's, that have the boot built in. They're not really expensive ones, but DH has had his for 8+ years and not had any problems.

Shauna...guess that's why he picked up a second pair for me...light weight nylon/pvc ones...that have lots of belly room. :o) I think we'll have to get a picture of me and the bump out in the river this summer!! (And considering I already look 6-7 months along...it should be quite the bump by then!) Being pregnant is about as likely to stop my fishing/hunting, as it is to stop me from gardening... ;o)
