Lambertson 2009

We always have to stop by and visit Luddy and Rachel. Luddy has a knack of making anything art. As always it's nice for some 1 on 1 time with a hybrizier. Daylilies aren't the only thing that grows there as many other plants are grown also. Rachel with her sunny outlook on life completes the trip. Managed to pry a pc of Texas Kaleidoscope to bring home and a super bonus. Thanks guys.

Plants maybe at 15% bloom, so the Tour Folks will have a treat. (May 2)

Lovely pictures, Bruce! You and Tanya must have had a great time. How many plants did you bring back?

That had to be a lot of fun! I've ordered plenty of plants from the Lambertson's, and their CV's have always been among my favorites. I really enjoyed seeing the pics of their garden. It looks amazing! Thanks a lot for sharing!!

You get all your seedlings planted yet??? :-) Looking forward to seeing pics of your new kids when they start to bloom. I have a few scapes up already in my seedling beds, and can hardly wait to see some new faces.

Love the pictires of the pond and the ones of the daylily beds. I see that everything is in raised boxes.

    opnjmprs,

The seedlings have been in the ground 3-4 weeks already and are growing quite well. We also have a few scapes coming on last years seedlings and of course after seeing blooms down south we are ready for the treasures to start blooming.

It's going to be nice to see everyones new seedlings posted.

    newyorkrita,

All of Lamberstons plants are either in raised beds, beds off the ground or in pots. You need to understand they don't have soil down there. They have sand and more sand. Anything you try to add to build soil with the sand ends up disappearing and is just a waste of time/money.

Dan Hansen grows in the native sand in field conditions. His plants love to get their feet into real soil up here. He is the only one down there that grows his plants that way. The way nature does.

Thanks for posting. I've added a few Lambertson's this year so we shall see how they like living in the north.
