Thanks so much for your concern, Connie. Today is not a very good day . . . headache and nausea. It seems to be happening about every 2nd day. What I did was a totally stupid thing. I was at my DS's place last Thursday and he is doing some renovations. Needless to say, Mom needs to get her 2 cents in. So, I went behind the pulled out fridge and began marking where some outlets would be moved to. I was very careful stepping over the fridge cord because of my knee. Buuutt, after I got over the cord, I must've tripped on the back corner of the fridge??? Not sure, but down I went, face first, onto the new hardwood floor. Didn't even have time to put out my hands to break my fall. Although, I more than likely would have two broken wrists to that action. However, I face planted, full force, and have a very bad concussion and a broken nose. Needless to say, I'm not looking too good right now. Beauty was never my strong point but I don't normally look like this. Both eyes are black, my nose is cut up and I've got yellow/green kneecaps. The good news is, my knees both went down pretty hard, too, but there seems to be no damage to them other than bruising. That was the scariest part of falling.

To all that read this, i do apologize for my rather harshwords in that posting. I'm normally pretty easy going but I did get a bit out of sorts. Totally agree with you on brain injury appreciation. It just doesn't want to work quite up to snuff. A friend came over on Saturday and I couldn't tell her the names, common or botanical, of any of my plants. How bad is that? DH took me to the hospital on Sunday night and I spent the night. I couldn't tell them my allergies or what medications I was on. But, the catscan was negative and they x-rayed my orbits (eye sockets). I think they were normal, too. I have to see the plastic surgeon tomorrow. But, my nose looks, to me like it's not too badly displaced. I don't think it's going to require any further treatment. Have to wait and see.

Actually, I think I'm heading to bed for a nap this afternoon. I'm really sleepy. My planting is going sooooo slow. My deck is still covered with plants that need to get planted. But, I really could care less right now.

Oh BTW don't worry about that post, I think we all wanted to say it. It's one thing being honest about our opinions, but I'm sick of this negative-Nelly-ness when some people never have anything nice to say about other people's gardens.

Oh Shauna, that sounds awful what you've been through! I sure hope you're feeling better soon. Do take it easy.....the planting, and anything else, can wait.

Btw, I thought you did a wonderful job tuning in those two on "that" post. They've had it coming for awhile.

Gil, I totally agree....some people can't say one nice thing to others. Negative people find problems in every situation. They're never happy. They choose to focus only on problems and pitfalls, and never see any solutions or silver linings.

Shauna, I know what you mean about the rambling - not that I don't do enough of that at the best of times. I complained to the EMS guy, on the way to my cat scan, about how my thoughts were all over the place - bits and pieces - and he had a perfect description for it. Like a goldfish - swim around the bowl, say "O look, a castle", swim around the bowl say "O look a castle", swim around...
You have "goldfish brain". It'll clear up eventually. I was very beautiful too, with my bruises. We were moving cattle, and on the last one, I was changing the gates around when she panicked - cow hit gate, gate hit me, I hit the ground - lights out. 5 days in the hospital, 3 weeks at home, and 5 weeks total before I was steady on my feet, and didn't have to concentrate on where they were. Not a lot of fun. The only symptom I have left is numbness and tingling in my arms when I look down - a bit of a pinched nerve in my neck that has yet to clear up. I did this the end of January, and I still have a dint in the middle of my forehead that wasn't there before. You'll need lots of sleep for that brain to heal. Don't fight it.

Hey Shauna, i guess we won't be nicknaming you "Grace", eh? :)

Sometimes i think this bit of clumsiness is an age thing. We're expecting our bodies to react as they've always done and we have to learn that they have minds of their own. It's frustrating to be doing something you've always done and feel that bit of hesitation or unsteadiness that your body has, and there you are wondering what the heck is happening to you.

Take care of yourself - the plants will be okay for awhile!

I hope you recuperate real soon, Shauna, and good thing your knees were spared any damage.

Not by way of a fall, but by the size of the goose egg on my shin from a clumsy move this morning, I think I'll also be sporting a lovely large bruise all summer long. Darn, just when I bought some new shorts and capris.

Thanks, everyone. I'd totally forgotten that I have our niece's wedding next Saturday, on the 16th. Auntie Shauna should be looking just great in all of the family shots at that one. : ) Oh well, I've got good makeup techniques, although a little rusty 'cause I hardly wear it anymore. Just hope it's a nice "temperate" June day.

I'll let you know tomorrow what the plastic surgeon says/does. Off to bed now. I hope tomorrow is my "good" day. Maybe I can get a couple of containers planted and my tomatoes.

Oh, and thanks for all the "backup" votes on that post. Grrr. . . I got a bit steamed.

Just returned from the plastic surgeon. Good news. I didn't need to have it reset or any surgery. No further treatment needed. Although, I may have a bump on the top/side of my nose that wasn't there before. Oh well, I think my days of being overly concerned about my looks are far behind me. If I'm ever in the market for a new man, which hopefully I'll never be, it'll take more than a nose job to attract one. Let see . . . tummy tuck, after the liposuction (top of the list), cheek implants, brow lift, b**b job (big work needed there) and then, I'd probably look at a nose job. I think I'll just stay in my garden and enjoy the beauty of my flowers. Much more relaxing than trying to attract a man, don't you think? OK, now I'm just being goofy. Very happy, though.

BTW, Connie, I loved the goldfish analogy. It describes the feeling to a tee. I'm having a bit of trouble driving still and I think it's the distraction of the roadsigns, business signage, etc. It's making me quite nauseous to drive.
