Happy birthday!!! Let us know what you did on your birthday. What did the boys and your DH get you for a present(s)? Any garden stuff...plants, etc???

How was your camping trip this week? Hope you got rain last night like we did here. We got about 1 to 1 1/2 inches of rain, some in the form of small pea-sized hail. Enough to soak everything really well. We really needed it already.

Aww, what a great bunch you all are!!

Sharon, that cake looks simply scrumptous! You just can't beat chocolate cake!

We just got back from camping last night. We were at Caddy Lake in the Whiteshell, and it was wonderful. Very peaceful and quiet as it's not a big campground and there's no serviced lots, so it's pretty rugged. I didn't have a cake, but roasted marshmallows over the fire is a close second behind cake, for me, anyway ;^) The day of my birthday was spent relaxing at the beach and then for supper we made cedar plank salmon accompanied with a good bottle of wine, and the campfire afterward.........it was a great day.

For birthday presents, I did get 16 stainless steel, solar powered lights for around the pond and gardens. I also got a new light fixture for the bedroom, not quite gardening related, but I've been wanting one for a few years, so I'm really happy about finally getting that replaced.

Thanks so much for the birthday wishes. It was such a nice welcome to come home to!
