That was amazing! Would anyone know what kind of vine that was. Do Morning glory and scarlet runner beans do the same thing? Do they need something to wind around or can they grow along stucco and fences?

Very interesting. Even when the vine wasn't yet attached to the bamboo pole it knows to swing around I guess looking for a nearby item to attach itself to (and counter-clockwise too, I've noticed). Looks like a morning glory vine to me.

Different types of vines climb differently. For Morning Glory or Scarlet runner beans, they do actually need a trellis or bamboo pole or some sort of mesh to climb on. You are right though, there are some vines that actually have "suction cup" feet on it's tendrils. Those can climb the side of a building or fence without needing a trellis.

I tell you story...
when I was a young lad, growing my first vegetable garden including pole beans, I then gave the vines a help
and wrapped them clockwise around the pole, my mom then inspected my work and she said this is wrong,
they always go counter clock wise.
