I have no fig cuttings to trade, but would appreciate your advice. I have room for only one fig tree, and it'll have to be espaliered at that. Which one produces best here? I got a black prince (brown turkey, according to the sunset book), it's still in a pot, and the figs are just falling off, unripe. Will it behave better in the ground, or should i try something else? Any advice appreciated.
Also, will figs damage a foundation if they are too close?

The tree should be planted in the ground before hard frost. Roots can easily freeze in a container. also, the South or East Side of your house, in Full sun is best. Plant the tree at least 4 feet from the foundation. Figs have been known to push against the foundation and could crack the cement wall eventually, but it would take many years. Also, the leaves can get into the gutters and plug the downspouts.

I have a very large fig tree that I will be trimming soon (15' across and taking over it's area) I need to cut it back about 5' all the way around. I would like to make cuttings to share but am not sure how.
