I am also looking for a blue hardy hibiscus and tropical hibiscus that is either, dk purple, burgandy or true blue.

I've never heard of a blue hardy/tropical hibiscus, but I have heard of a near blue/purple rose of sharon (hibiscus and roses are in the same family, and from my understanding, their genetic makeup doesn't allow for natural blue hues). I have a purple rose of sharon i can take cuttings from if you're interested. I can send you unrooted cuttings for postage.

Thank you very much for the offer but I already have a few rose of Sharon shrubs. I believe there are a couple of blue hibiscus strains now. 'Bluebird' or 'Blue satin' I don't know if they are the same plant or not. Here is some pics and info:

Both 'Blue bird' and 'Blue satin' are strains of rose of sharon (Hibiscus syriaca). there are a few that grow in my area which look similar in colour, and if you are interested, I can take some pictures for you to see (they're just beginning to bloom)
