Internet Etiquette

I wanted to start a post about internet etiquette and this daylily forum. It would be glad to see any articles or rules (if that's not too strong a word) for making cyberspace a more enjoyable place to be.

For me, I would suggest that the internet is a wonderful and power form of communication. The flip side is that power and effectiveness work for negative communication as well. So, everyone should recognize the temptation to write angry words, --words that in most cases remain in large corporate and government caches for eternity! Just as in regular face to face communication, a polite, professional, humane demeanor is best.

As with road rage, flaming is too common. Keep your cool. Don't buy into it. If you don't like it, ignore it. Of course, we have to stick up for justice, but don't engage in endless bickering.

Someone has got to be aware of sources that put this into words better than I am.
