I used to make my own. Can't remember the name of the container i used, but it wasn't electric or anything, just a container inside another insulated container. I'm sure you could probably find one even at Canadian Tire. What about looking in the Sears catalogue? Sometimes they have different things. Anyway, it was really easy to make and tasted pretty good too.

You don't need anything Sharon, just bring your milk to a boil, cool and mix with a bit of plain yogurt that has the bacteria in it, don't use yogurt with gelatin. Put the container on top of the frig or freezer or any warm place and wait a day and check it. That is it.

A great replacement for cream cheese is yogurt cheese, especially in deserts. Place your yogurt in a cheese cloth and let it drip over a bowl for a few days, you get excellent yogurt cheese.

Yes, I have tried the yogurt cheese, its to die for! I buy Extra Foods PC 1% Plain-Naturel yogurt with 4 live bacterial cultures. Turn the tub upside down on top of a colander lined with a coffee filter for 24 hours in the fridge. I then add after its drained, either, SF Davinci syrups, all-natural crunchy peanut butter, flax meal, blueberries or sf jello mix and is it ever yummy!

I've emailed the company of this machine, see link below, hopefully they sell them in Alberta, otherwise I might have to order one thru them.

Well! The name "Yogourmet" sounded familiar, so i set out to look for my yogurt maker. I didn't find it, but i do have a Yogourmet electric one on a shelf downstairs - still in the box! LOL My mother probably gave it to me, and probably because i must have mentioned that i wasn't making yogurt anymore. I guess i'll have to try some again, eh?

LOL Nah, i think i'll just USE it! If you can't find one at CT, maybe you could email the Yogourmet people and find out who in Canada carries them. I bet Walmart would have them - is there a Walmart near you?
