WOW! Awesome cherries Al!! I hope you've got some bird netting or a corn broom or something - in my yard that would be full of starlings.

As prophesied, my Nankings did not set much fruit because they bloomed too early and got nuked by a frost. :0( No jelly this year. My raspberries are almost finished now, but at their height I had so many that me, my dogs, and the starlings couldn't keep them all picked!

My Evans cherry is loaded this year too. Even some of the suckers are producing too.

Does anyone have any idea how long you can leave Evans cherries on before you pick them, or should they be picked as soon as they get ripe. I heard somewhere that they can be left on for awhile in order to improve their sweetness, but I do not know if this is true. Thanks!!

Yes Al, I've found that the longer they can stay on the tree, the sweeter they will be. The only problem with that is, trying to convince the cedar waxwings and the deer to hold off for awhile too ;^)
