Vacation Zone Envy!

I just came back from a vacation/family reunion in Arkansas (zone 7). My Fatherinlaws garden made me JEALOUS! The countryside on the trip made me want to cry! A couple of the family members live in saskatchewan and they felt the same!

Most of the tomatoes are volunteers- I even found one in the uncles LAWN! Watermelon and gourds and beans are volunteering too! Hibiscus are like weeds to the FIL- he tries to REMOVE them. Trumpet vines grow rampant up 60ft trees! I could barely find the clematis under the wisteria. The one time I found morning glory in bloom, it was a beautiful sky blue. And half of this he calls "growing poorly." The grape vine was put in just over 2 yrs ago!

Oh well, the bonus is that the kids aren't ducking the mosquitos here and I'm not watching the sky- remember the tornadoes earlier this year in that area- one set down and destroyed a town 10 miles away. I'll keep remembering that while I look at my puny yard! Think it'll help?

Look at some of this!
