It's a great picture, though! We've had moose here, usually in the back pond. My son saw one once and grabbed my camera for a picture and short video. The funniest time was several years ago on a frosty Saturday morning in late October when my husband, son, and brother-in-law were sitting at the kitchen table drinking coffee and talking about hunting. I happened to look out the window behind them, and there was a moose trotting by! LOL You never saw three guys move so fast! The moose got away, though! :)

I had and seen them several times on the acreage, they can do allot of damage, several trees
and shrubs they cleaned up to just about nothing left!

A few years ago we had a couple of them in the wheat field next to us. DH woke me up at 6am to come check them out. Maisy too didn't know what to do and just barked, they just stood there and stared back at us.

Great picture Brenda! Yes, in our neck of the woods they are not something you see very often. A few years back, I did see 2 crossing the field a couple of hundred yards south of our house. Now, up by my parents place, that's a different story, because they're just 3 miles south of Riding Mountain national park. We saw one walking down their lane. My oldest was only 3 at the time, and he saw it first and yelled to everyone, "Look! A camel!"LOL

Nice pic Brenda! I think that would a young male, with juvenile antlers. Lucky he was not aggressive - males can be grumpy this time of year. I had one try to threaten me driving through Riding Mountain park several years ago... it was September and rutting season, and it was running alongside the truck and waving its antlers at it. It was pretty cool, especially since it didn't actually charge. I guess I was driving just fast enough away from its lady friend(s).
