I'm slowly trying to get myself out of hibernation mode, and start thinking of planting a few seeds myself.

Hi Tova, good to see you back :0) Last year was the first I tried wintersowing. My biggest success was Maltese Cross (Lychnis chalcedonica), I even got a couple of flowers the first year.

Welcome back, Tova. I'll be a bit slower and conservative in what w/s'ing I'm doing this year. I have to have another knee surgery in the spring, right near planting time. I'm expecting that'll slow me down a bit from gardening this year. But, I'm still going to do what I can. I'll just have to put my rolling wagon seat to use again this year. I figured I was so smart last summer because I hardly used it. See you on the W/S'ing forum.

Hi Tova! Good to see you back here again!

I am still mostly in hibernation mode and getting some company (my Mom and Sister are coming for a week as of today) so I haven't given it too much thought besides planning the flowerbeds and containers.

I am definately not going to W/S as much this year because most of my perennials are starting to fill in now and I have limited city-lot space! LOL --- but yeah, I always end up W/S'ing more then I plan on (and then beg friends/neighbours to take plants off my hands LOL)

What worked best last year? Sunflowers, cosmos, lavatera, to mention just a few of my must-haves. I've had great success W/S'ing lupines for a few years now. I love watching them come up because they are one of the earliest sprouters.

Hi Tova! I had pretty good luck with most of my winter sowing last year so i can't really pinpoint anything in particular that was best. A few years ago, i winter-sowed Achillea 'Love Parade', and that bloomed the first year. This year the hollyhocks did great, and i had luck with allysum for the first time.
