I also just took a look at Northscaping. I saved it into my favorites list. It does look quite interesting. I don't think many people know about it yet. I have heard Stefan speak at various hort conventions in Manitoba and he seems to be very knowledgable. The advice given by Stefan and Jim in the discussion forums in Northscaping website seems to be down to earth and easy to understand. All in all, I think that that website will prove to be a popular one in the future and one that I will definitely be checking in on periodically.

On first glance, the website sort of reminds me of the renegade gardener (Don Engebretson) website. So, while on the subject of good websites for Northern Gardeners I thought I would mention that one as well because I really enjoy his monthly updates on "myth of the week", "don't do that", etc. and his sense of humor.

Just thought I would mention it as well, as nothing better to pass the winter than a good novel, or internet website (lol.)

Winter hardiness is an issue that I'm always exploring. I don't think a lot of plants are tested for Z4 hardiness in the US because it's a relatively small market here. The number of plants available when going from Z4 to Z5 rating seems to quadruple. This forum is always helpful in sorting out new possibilities, and hopefully these other sites will add some more.
