Hey Rafed,

Check out this link. Last year someone posted their experience. I'm not sure if the graft took though. I tried it last spring and I was unsuccessful getting a graft to take. I'm going to try again in a couple months when things start to leaf out as well as chip budding this summer.

Yes, I have grafted a lot of different varieties in an adult tree. No problem for it.

Some varieties are more vigorous and will grow more than others but you can control it by pruning.

I made the first grafts in this tree 4 years ago, and currently is difficult to know where is the graft, in most cases the graft has welded perfectly with the tree.

Axier, I followed the link to your original fig grafting article in Spanish (link below). I just started reading it and think it's great!

I think it would be a great asset for the fig growing community. Next week, I will be taking a three-hour nonstop flight....Albuquerque to Seattle. I think translating the article into English would help would help me pass the time quickly in a way that would be helpful to many. I know that my father [who will also be in Seattle] would be interested in the article, as would other people in the Fig Forum.

I studied Spanish in high school and college [and spent a year at Universidad Complutense de Madrid]. I speak and read Spanish fairly frequently...both because my in-laws (suegros) are from Mexico, but also because I have friends in Spain and Costa Rica. Therefore, I think that possibly I would be a good candidate to attempt the translation. Some of my vocabulary and use of expressions are a little rusty, but I can look up terms I don't understand [or of course, I can be lazy and just ask my friends :-)]

Is there a way to contact you? I ask because I think that after I translate it, I should send it to you...both because it's your material, but also because you'll probably want to review it.
