Yikes Sharon, I know- too much over at --enter with caution.
Such a great selection, and I don't know about you, but lately I've just been going nuts with lilies and peonies.
    Yippee!

If there are any other conifer freaks out there, proceed with caution in the conifer section, they have a great selection of dwarf conifers. And located on the prairies to boot! Grafts are from February 2004 and there are some two year grafts as well.

Btw, where is Bruderheim located in Alberta, they say they test all material for hardiness to zone 2 by growing it themselves. Are they up north by Edmonton or closer to Calgary?

Faith for sure next fall, without a doubt, I will probably order some peonies from there, I try to buy at least 1-2 new ones a year.
Geez, I haven't even looked at the conifers yet...oh boy I'm in trouble!

Bruderheim is located about 20 minutes northeast of Fort Saskatchewan.
    Hwy. 45?, I think.

According to Maptuit, it is 65km NE of Edmonton. About 200km from Wainwright Sharon, a couple of hours and you are there!

Well, I just might have to take a road trip this spring ;)
First stop at Holes, then off to Bruderheim. I must remember to ask hubby if I can borrow the truck.

The Parkland Perennials link posted on Feb 2 does not work. Below is the correct link. :)

Well I'm impressed, got my order in today and can't believe how huge the bulbs and bare-rooted daylilies I ordered. You were right Lori! They've got themselves a regular customer now!

Shauna, just wanted to let you know that PP have a Lily called 'Master Gardener' - 38". Inside light orange-yellow overlaid strong orange in the throat. Outside with tips dark pink. Fine dark red spotting inside.

I think it would be a perfect plant to treat yourself once your finish your MG program ;)

Wow, Sharon, is that ever pretty. I might just do that. The colors work in very nicely with a perennial bed I was planning. Might just have to take an afternoon drive. Thanks

Glad it worked out for you! I've always been very pleased with the quality of stock from Parkland - and bulbs and divisions have always been oversized compared to other suppliers.

Well, I figured I better get my Parkland Fall order in soon, so today I mailed out my order. This is what I've ordered.

Lilium ÂBlack Velvet Asiatic Lily (3)
Lilium ÂModern Style LA Lily (3)
Lilium ÂMrs. R.O. Backhouse Martagon Lily
    Lilium 'Embarrassment' Asiatic Lily
    Paeonia lactiflora 'Laura Dessert' (2)

I also wrote them awhile ago via their website, but of course no answer back...grrr. I was wondering if their daylilies are field grown? Anyone know?

Gerry (gdanen--a previous poster on this thread) would know if the daylilies are field grown. He's not the owner of PP, but he knows the owner well, and he helped create the website. He also took many of the photos of the products. My impression is that everything sold at PP is grown there. I have a large wish list, but I think I'd better plant the stuff I already have before I order more things.

Sharon, you'll love L. martagon 'Mrs. R.O. Backhouse'. My bulb has clumped up, relatively quickly, and they're one of my favourite flowers. I had a wonderful show, last year. Unfortunately, the lilies come up early in the spring, and the plants were already growing when we had that last cold spell (-10C for several days) and all the buds froze. The plants survived, though, so I'll just have to be patient until next year. Make sure you plant it where the flowers can be backlit by the sun. They'll take your breath away!!

Received my order today and you should see the honking size of the peony roots; theyÂre so big that they pack them in a big black garbage bag.

Still didnÂt get any response about the daylilies though! That's the only thing I don't like about PP, you send in a question and you get no reply back, not good ;(

Thanks for your tip on the Backhouse Doris!

I received plants today too! I'm so excited. Apart from the ones from Parkland, I got alpines & rock garden plants from Beaver Creek Greenhouses in BC. Gorgeous stuff like Escobaria vivipara v. buoflama (cacti), Soldanella montana, and a few rare Saxifragas. Those plants are teeny - but they're supposed to be - LOL!

Oh geez, now I'll have to check out Beaver Creek GH!

Will this madness ever end! LOL

If you go straight up highway 21 it will lead you to Bruderham..Then you can turn off # 45. or # 28..

I have not been to Parkland yet but I see their lilies are all field grown from the pictures..
I am hoping to get out there soon...
