I've never heard of them Fern, so I had to google it. It seems like it should work, but for $60 it's fairly pricey. Have you tried using those water retentive crystals in your containers before? I had some diapers left over after the boys were "trained" and took out the crystals from those and mixed it into the soil of containers. It seemed to help.

Hi Fern, I didn't know what an earth box was either, till I followed Lauries link. I agree seems like they should work, but are a bit pricy.

There is a method of veggie gardening where you can put a lot into a small space. Its called square foot gardening. I have used this method for my veggies for years. Check out the Square foot gardening forum here at gardenweb. This way you are still gardening in the ground and don't have to worry about watering as much.
