You will have some fruit next year. In another week or so give them some fertilizer if you have not already. If they are in a nice sunny location they should grow like weed this year. You may even get a few figs this year.

The location I chose receive about 5 hours of Sunlight. However Summer here is not as hot as yours, it's in high 60s and low 70s. Yesterday I visited a local nursery and spoke to an lady there. She even discouraged me from buying her 3.5 gal fig tree there due to mild climate here. But the Vb and Neveralla should do fine here according to folks in this forum.

Six hours of direct sunlight is kind of a bare minimum and thats just barely enough. With five hours they should leaf out and may even look healthy but I would be surprised if they ever bare more than a few fruit.

How about a heat trap surrounding the fig tree ? I heard people have success grow fig tree against a wall.

Heat helps ripen figs but without more hours of sun you're not likely to have any figs to ripen.

I just dug out my fig tree( Neveralla 10" height) from the ground and potted with potting soil in a 3 gallon pot. I mixed about 10% Perlite with the soil. I realized the ground site only has 4 hours Sunlight which will not sufficient. Now I have freedom to move the pot around to get maxmium Sunlight exposure. Now it come to watering. How should I water the fig tree in the pot. Do I underwater it ? How do I know when to water ? The tree just leaf out. My backyard is very windy in the afternoon wind gust up to 20mph.
