Jon, I apologize for asking what must be obvious to everyone else. What do the abbreviations stand for? Is there a legend somewhere on the site? Thanks

Letters and numbers at the end of the name may indicate the original source and/or where a particular tree is in the orchard, particulaly where there is more than one tree of a variety, from different sources, and where they may or may not actually be the same. I have about 20 different Celestes, which often seem different, but which preliminary DNA testing seems to indicate are actually all the same.

My concern is I want one of everything, of course... But I don't know what is appropriate for my zone.

Best source of the info is Figs4Fun and the Forums.

pitangadiego,

I am very interested in your comment about DNA testing of your Celestes ... how are you doing this?

-Steve

It is being done by USDA as a research project.

Sent you an email last night requesting possible cuttings

Jon,

any cuttings still available?

Richard

Some, but disappearing fast.
