March comes in.....sheepishly

Well, here it is. For some of you out west, it's more lion-like, isn't it? Here, it isn't exactly like a lamb - it's a bit chilly out there, and flurries might happen overnight. Your storm is heading south and east. Environment Canada's long range forecast for March is for below normal temperatures, but then for March, April and May, it says above normal. Another big "we'll see". :)

At least you're now getting the snow cover you need, a little late, but it still might help, right? More moisture when it melts, too. Silver linings!

So, happy three weeks until spring, everyone!

Oh for sure, the snow we got in the last 2 days is most welcomed!

I guess I have to say that March came in like a lion, though from early morning to mid afternoon it wasn't too bad (not snowing but somewhat windy). Then the snow started and it seemed to make things slippery pretty quick.

On the way home from work it hit me: in one month, it will be April 1st. The snow could hopefully be gone, or at least on it's way to being gone. Hard to believe. On the positive thinking side, this latest snow made things brighter and whiter, and covered up some of the ugly icy sand covered snowbanks out there.

Arentcha getting any of that Marcia? Where did it go? I thought you got our weather when we were done with it...

Anyway it looks so pretty now that it's done, almost as pretty as it'll look when its gone! I loooooove spring!

Just came in from shoveling snow...........it sure LOOKED nice and fluffy and light........unfortuneatly looks can be deceiving!!

I did that yesterday, Laurie. Totally surprised my DH because I normally don't do snow shoveling. Why, when I have an all male family to do it. And I thought it was so nice - fluffy and light. Well, I got about 2/3 of the driveway done, the walks and the deck. Today, my back is telling me that it wasn't so light. Actually, it was exercise and cardio that I really needed.

What an interesting winter. It took until March 1st in Edmonton to get a good snowfall. I don't think I have ever seen anything like it. Don't know if it enough to fend of a spring drought for the farmers but it sure helps. And the best thing of all - I can't find my winter sowing flats!

Never got a flake. :) We usually get your weather, Gil, but this time you kindly sent it on down to Southern Ontario. Serves my sister right for just coming back from a cruise! LOL

It was a bit milder today, up to about -3°C. Sure felt nice!

Hi everyone: March arrived in Blanc Sablon like a lion with a big roar. We had more snow in the past two days than we had all winter. Even though I live in Quebec, being so far east, our weather is like that of the martimes. I actually have been stuck here at the hospital where I work since yesterday morning. I guess Blandine;my wife, will be happy to see in the morning . I was watching the news and heard that my old town of Iqaluit had the warmest temperature in the country yeaterday (plus 6). Oh well, in like a lion , out like a lamb. Right?

    Hi all
I was listening to CBC the other day and they were saying that environment Canada issued a prediction for the next three months, they said that because of a late forming actic vortex over the eastern arctic that spring will be a long drawn out affair with colder and wetter weather than normal. This is why we are suddenly getting colder weather across Canada and this vortex is drawing warm air from the Atlantic and putting it over Baffin island, thus creating their warm spell. It seeems to me that spring is getting later and later every year. Give it another few years and we will have winter all summer and summer all winter.LOL

    Cheers Al
