fertilizing dahlias

I've done some searching on the forum and haven't found quite the answer I'm looking for.

The majority of my dahlias are aprox 8" now and appear to be doing well. Do I need to be fertilizing them now or leave well enough alone till they are planted outside?

(and if I should, what with?)

In the past, I haven't fertilized when started inside, but maybe I should of??

What kind of soil are you using Deb, some mixes have added nutrients in them already?
You can give them a light solution of 20-20-20 water soluble fertilizer right now but do go easy otherwise they will become too weak when planting time comes.

All I had on hand, was the pro mix seedling mix, so hopefully that was all right to use? I'm heading to Lloyd tomorrow, so wanted to make sure I got the appropriate fertilizer if so needed.
