They are tissue culture, that's what I was told when I email them about their plants. I was about to order a green ischia also from them, but they told me it was TC so I pass. But seeing how nice and big yours is,I might reconsidering ordering one too.

I've seen a youtube video of some guy showing his black ischia fig he got from Hirtz and they indeed look smaller than the one posted here by houstontexas 123.

It grew nice and big, compare to when you got it. I should have gotten one too, when the growing season was longer, it's too late now :( maybe next year. My Egyptian fig cuttings, I got from a friend in Tx, is such a slow grower and is way smaller then your TC fig from wellsprings. I would've expected a cutting to be faster growing, but maybe, since it lacks a tap root, it's growing slower or maybe it's just the variety?

Very healthy looking tree and how big it got is WOW. Most figs are fast growers, but mine isn't so, it's an Egyptian variety sent from a friend in TX. But she had informed me, that this particular fig variety from Egypt is a slow grower.

spring update, it leafed out about 2 weeks ago, just put it in the ground this weekend.

Awww...maybe next year in it's 3rd year. TC are like seedling in habit and fruit a little later than cuttings would.

i just brought it in under the porch. we had a few freezes, just covered all my plants with frost blankets.

Wow, your fig has grown quite well and looks fantastic. This variety is one of the richest and one of the best I have ever tasted.

I just received a Violette de Bordeaux and an Olympia fig from Wellspring. Both figs are very healthy. I can only hope I have as much success as you have had. What do you feed them?

Started two green ischia cuttings 3 years ago from a guy I contacted on these forums, "Ben of South Florida". I traded some of my cuttings for his. Last year they fruited and I realized that they were almost certainly a variety I had tried previously called Italian Honey or Lattarula (pale interior green exterior). Aren't Green Ischias supposed to have pink or red interiors?

It's a good fig so I'm not sorry, but I was really looking forward to growing GIs. :(

Green Ischia is a "strawberry" fig, that is red like strawberry jam on the inside. If the inside is not red, it's not GI
