I have grown it in the past and although very beautiful, I haven't found it very vigorous. My sister, however, grows them beautifully just across town. I guess I just haven't found the right conditions for it.

It sure is beautiful....I grew it in a container a few years ago, but its very hard to find around my neck of the woods and haven't been able to find another one since, btw, it looks great with blue wave petunias.

I wonder if you could overwinter it in the house or take cuttings of this plant?

Actually it is in a book that I have -Annuals for Sask and Man. Propogation by cuttings is the preferred method.
I hope that I have luck finding it.

Hi:
I have grown Persian Shield ever since i saw my first one 3 years ago. I think it's foliage is just 2 die 4. I also planted some in a large Iron Kettle type plastic tub, along with some deep Purple Wave Petunias. I think they are actually called Celebrity Blue, even though they look Purple. I also have them paired with Magenta colored Impatiens. They look FAB!
I think they are very easy to grow and take cuttings from.
