Do You grow your Kadota outside?

I do not have experience with the figs you mentioned but the figs are not much different from other plants as far as indoor growth (for jump start) is concerned. You have to provide conditions necessary for growth such as warmth and light as close as possible to those outside in the grwoing season (besides watering etc).

hey rich, I put the katoda in the shed and wrap it in berlap for the winter. I was thinking that if I put them in my basement it will give them time to thaw out. I dont get any light in my basement thou. Do you think that this is a waste of time or will it help?

I posted a reply yesterday about good New Jersey figs last evening, but I either posted it on another thread (Fig Hardiness?), ot it is lost.
I find that Eastern Brown Turkey, Desert king, Celeste and White Marseilles are hardy here. magnolia is fairly hardy, but the fruit spoils easily in rainy weather. Aquirrels will eat the huge brebas BEFORE they are ripe! How frustrating! Eastern Brown Turkey is a good producer even it the top is killed by cold.
