Are they Siberian irises? If so, I've heard they can tolerate alot of moisture and are reportedly good plants to grow in shallow water/ponds.

I think they might be Rhein Nixe, but I'm not sure.

They were planted by the previous owner.

If they're the purple and white ones, those are Rhein Nixe. Some of mine are in a lower-lying area and they have made it through fine every year.

Thanks, always wanted to know what those iries were called. Mine line the edge of the septic field so my hubby doesn't drive over it with the tractor. As you can imagine they get lots of water and survive. C
